Business and leisure travelers have an incredible
opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals,
both in their own community and beyond. This can be done with very little
effort and at no cost to the traveler.
 Hotel
Stays
Whether you stay in top of the line luxury resorts, or the lowest cost
hotels, they all have this in common- on a daily basis they will replace
the "complimentary" toiletry items in your room. If you simply
put the unopened, unused items in your travel case in the morning before
heading out for the day, they will be replaced during the daily room
cleaning.
It might not seem like much to you, but over a few
night stay at any hotel you can collect enough soap and shampoo (just
put the open shampoo in your case and reuse it the next day!) to last
a family for a month! If you are at a resort or luxury hotel you can
also collect the extras like lotion and mouthwash that many individuals
never have access to.
Airline Flights
If you fly internationally, especially in business or first class, you
receive a "travel kit" for use during the flight. This might
seem like a nice, but fairly useless thing. In fact, many kits are left
on the seat after the flight never having been opened. Take this same
kit and put it in the hands of the right individual and it can become
one of their most prized possessions!
What to do
COLLECT - COLLECT - COLLECT!!! It costs you nothing but a few
moments of your time to truly make a difference! Bring the toiletry
items home and either donate them yourself to a local shelter or pantry,
or donate them to TFT for distribution.
TFT regional organizers have identified shelters,
pantries and other organizations in their community that have a need
for the items you are donating. The regional organizers handle picking
up the donations from the collection centers, sorting and distribution
to the receiving entities. Beyond local needs in each region, toiletries
are also sent to target communities where a special need has been identified.

Donating items to TFT
We are in the process of setting up regional collection centers for
toiletries in major metropolitan areas. This allows for cost effective
collection and distribution of items. We suggest saving up toiletry
items and then delivering them in bulk to your regional center. There
is no need to separate items. This will be done by TFT. (Again, please
contribute only unused, unopened items.) If a center has not been set
up in your area, collections can be sent by post to the nearest regional
center.

Spread the Word
TFT relies on word-of-mouth and email to get its' message out. Even
if you are not a frequent traveler, you can greatly assist our cause
by helping to inform others of what we are working to accomplish.
